The Gray Man (2022)
The Gray Man
Once again, Ryan Gosling continues to put on a show, and he doesn’t disappoint in this movie at all. This is definitely one that I think would be a hit or miss for some, as it feels like it targets a certain audience. It’s very action packed, which I liked. It constantly adds new details and information to the plot, while still focusing on the characters and setting. Unfortunately, this movie does get a bit confusing at times, and the timeline of events was a bit weird. I liked the layout of it, but it felt a bit sloppy to me. But, it was still entertaining. There were a few bits that seemed a bit slow and dragged out, but besides those, I liked this movie. A lot of it was very visually pleasing, and there was plenty of color in many scenes. It helped contradict the darker tone of the movie, which I really liked. The entire cast was really good, but I especially loved the trio of Gosling, Evans, and de Armas. I like seeing Chris Evans in an antagonist role. I’ve only ever seen him as Captain America, so getting a more recent and evil role was very nice. I also loved the addition of Ana de Armas, who previously starred with Gosling in Blade Runner: 2049. And although on different sides, the duo of Gosling and Evans was quite awesome. All the action and fight scenes were pretty well shot, although at some points, there was a whole lot crammed into one scene or shot. That’s one complaint I have, and even though I usually like a lot of action in one scene, it was a bit much in this case. Most of the scenes were good, except a select few. The music was decently good, though nothing too incredible. I very much enjoyed it during the fight scenes, where it added an obvious intense element. Overall, I would recommend this to all action fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
