Poison (2023)
Poison
As the fourth Wes Anderson short film in four days, he certainly went out with a bang. I just physically and mentally cannot comprehend how he makes such perfect media. I mean technically, I have to give a LOT of credit to Roald Dahl and his pure genius. But, it takes such a creative and brilliant person to be able to PERFECTLY represent and PERFECTLY execute everything that Dahl has written. King Wes is becoming dangerously close to being my favorite director ever. But yeah, this final short film (for now) is so well shot and written. I actually remember reading the original Poison short story sometime in high school, so watching this brought back some nostalgic memories. I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’m definitely not gonna say any spoilers, just know that in 17 minutes, this film can make you feel several ways, and for me, my heart was even racing at certain points. It was cool to see Benedict Cumberbatch one last time, as well as Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. Everybody just fits in so well. The narration was also precisely played out, much like the previous three short films. I just can’t say enough about this and all I have to say is that Wes is the most beautifully thinking person ever and he’s a freaking genius. Please please please go watch this when you get a chance. You’ll regret it if you don’t. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out NOW!
