Inside Out 2 (2024)
Inside Out 2
When it comes to sequels, specifically animated ones, this is one of the better ones that I’ve seen. The first Inside Out is so amazing, that I thought there was almost no way they could live up to it. To my surprise, I thought this one was almost on the same level. I still think the first one is *slightly* better, but not by much. I actually think I liked this one better than the first, solely because it deals with much more relatable emotions. I could identify with it way more. Not as much as some people might, but there were a lot more connections I could make. I guess story-wise, there are some similarities to the first, and it deals with a few more emotions. But the addition of the new emotions, and Riley’s age, helps make this a strong, understandable sequel. Unfortunately, not all of the original voice cast returned, but the replacements still did a fantastic job. Both the returning actors and the new ones contribute so much to their roles. Maya Hawke as Anxiety is perfect casting, and Amy Poehler back as Joy was almost better than the first time. All the designs of the new emotions were amazing, and I can’t stress enough how their physical looks match their identities so well. That goes for everyone. The score is amazing again, and though it’s not Michael Giacchino, this one uses old themes with new, and is very powerful. Lastly, the animation was, once again, absolutely fantastic, and is just as good as the first film. There’s so much color and detail in every single frame. Overall, this is one of the best sequels I’ve ever seen, and everyone should see it at some point in their life. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
