The Fall Guy (2024)
The Fall Guy
Colt Seavers is literally me. Of course, every Gosling character is literally me. Gosling included. But man, he is just so relatable. Everything about him. But we already know that. Let me actually talk about the movie here. It was such a stuntacular spectacle, full of action, color, music, and stardom. I wouldn’t go as far to say that this movie is perfect, but it’s pretty close. I just absolutely loved it. It’s based on the 80’s TV show, which I haven’t seen, but I certainly want to watch it now. I really understand why Steven Spielberg liked this movie. The story isn’t that complex, but there are so many little twists and turns, and it only gets better as it goes on. A simple stunt man’s journey, constantly getting thrown into things he doesn’t necessarily want to get into. It was extremely well written. Even though it just seems like an action movie, there is a great theme of love and redemption. The phone call scene on the boat was particularly touching. There was a perfect blend of action, love, and comedy. There are constantly hilarious line deliveries with a couple physical gags, but it doesn’t get overbearing. You watch it, you laugh, and then immediately get pulled back into the mysterious plot. The acting was extremely solid all around, and Ryan Gosling once again shows how much of a gifted comedian he is. His and Blunt’s chemistry is really good. The soundtrack was great. The stunts were next level. The cinematography was gorgeous, with great flashes of color and detail. I just loved it. It’s just a shame that the Academy isn’t gonna have a stunt category until 2026. Cause this one deserves that Oscar. I’d definitely recommend this movie to all action/comedy fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
