Infinity Pool (2023)
Infinity Pool
This is definitely up there when it comes to odd movies that I’ve seen. In some ways it’s exactly what I expected, but in most ways, it was totally unpredictable. One thing I really enjoy about seeing new movies is that you can usually avoid spoilers. In this case, I knew nothing about the movie, not even the summary. It made the experience very unique, as I never knew what was to come. The movie also does a great job of keeping you guessing, as the story was constantly moving forward in an unexpected way. However, it was somewhat confusing at times. At the end, I was definitely left a bit confused, though not severely. I did really enjoy the story, and like I said, it takes many crazy turns that you don’t expect. It moved forward at a good pace, though it also felt a little slow at certain points. All the characters were very interesting, and it’s hard to tell whether you like them or not. But, the acting really sells it, and everyone did a great job. The standouts to me (and probably most everyone) were Alexander Skarsgård and Mia Goth. They both did a fantastic job of shifting emotions and being totally crazy, which helped the experience become more odd. The music was awesome, and I loved the techno sound and the loud buildups. The suspenseful and intense feel it gives almost makes you paranoid, which is precisely what you want. Overall, the movie was very disturbing, graphic, and weird, but still enjoyable. Definitely not one I’d see again, but it was a good one time watch. I’d recommend it to most horror/thriller fans, especially if you like more of the psychological stuff. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
