Saw 3D (2010)
Saw 3D
Despite this movie’s negative reviews and reactions, this was way more entertaining than I thought it would’ve been. Although the movie itself wasn’t super great, it has a good story which makes for some gory, intense entertainment. I love how the story involves a survivor of the traps who uses his story to capitalize and profit on his experience. It puts a unique and interesting spin of a survivor's story. This movie wrapped up the first 6 Saw movies pretty decently, and you get to see what happens to the characters, as well as their final story. I absolutely loved the return of Cary Elwes, which I didn’t see coming. There were so many twists and turns with him, along with everybody else. The movie has a great ending, and it finishes in a way that you aren’t ready for. Hoffman makes for the perfect antagonist, and he does a great job of completing Kramer’s original tasks. I also love seeing Kramer’s wife making a final stand, which was a nice way to see her character end. She had a dream sequence that was pretty graphic but awesome, and it was one of the best moments of the movie. One knock on this movie is that there are several plot holes and inconsistencies, and although the story is good, there are just holes throughout the movie. Even though I was left confused about several things, it was still a fun movie to watch. The effects and makeup were great, and this was definitely one of the most graphic and disturbing of the Saw movies. The fake blood looked a little too light in certain scenes, but besides that, this movie reeks with gore. The music was crappy, and felt like your generic horror movie. Overall, this movie was pretty fun to watch, and though it wasn’t made too well, it’s still entertaining.
