A Garfield Christmas (1987)
A Garfield Christmas
This is certainly one of those Christmas shorts that I watch every year, and I always love it more and more. I don’t even like cats, but Garfield is such a lovable little thing. His grumpy and noncompliant character is just hilarious. So take that, and throw it in with Christmas, and boom, you’ve got one of the best Christmas shorts around. The story is comical and very cheesy, but still has several moments that make you feel sentimental and compassionate. The whole thing is beautiful. The way it compiles the serious moments and then has it jump immediately back into comedy is just smooth. All the characters are dumb too, but like Garfield, very lovable. Especially Grandma. She is the best thing to ever exist. Overall, this is a very sweet and short little Christmas story that always cheers me up. I’m not a huge fan of the songs in this, but other than that, it’s just about perfect. This short is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
