• This was a significant downgrade from the first movie. It didn’t seem to really have the same luster. I guess  I still somewhat enjoyed it, it just seemed so much more weirder and slower. A lot of it spoofed House on Haunted Hill, which worked well. I haven’t seen the newer one, but I’ve seen the older one with Vincent Price about 100 times. So, it was cool to see both newer and older references. The story was just kind of its own boring thing, with ghosts and spooks. It didn’t really lead anywhere, but there were definitely still some funny moments. The cast helped out a bit, especially with Tim Curry and David Cross. I was super happy to see both of them appear, as they are both some of the most comically gifted people ever. The rest of the regular cast was hilarious, and I can’t wait to see them again. Overall, this movie felt boring, dumb, and basically like an R rated version of a Goosebumps episode. I probably wouldn’t watch it again just to watch it, but I would if I did a Scary Movie marathon like I am now. That goes the same for the recommendation; I wouldn’t necessarily watch it unless you’re doing a Scary Movie run.
