Bird Box (2018)
Bird Box
Blech. The only thing this movie left me with was a bad taste in my mouth. The movie itself was kind of decent, but I just found it so boring. Seeing as I wanted to fall asleep during most of it, this review will probably be short. I did enjoy the direction of the movie, although I think it focused way too much on the past. I didn’t get enough of the present until the end of the movie. I will say that the last 30ish minutes were actually good, and I did enjoy the ending. However, everything before that was such a drag. It kind of felt like The Happening, although much more deeper and emotional. The story was good, but like I said, I think it focuses a bit too much on the characters, which is what made the movie go by really slow. The only person I actually liked was Malorie, played by none other than Sandra Bullock. I’ve added an extra 15% to the Berry Score for her, because she is certainly nice to watch. Overall, this movie was very sucky, even though it was still somewhat decently made. I don’t think I’d really recommend it, and it’s probably one of those hit or miss movies for most people. Maybe I’ll give it another chance someday.
