Titans (Season 2) (2019)
Titans (Season 2)
The second season of this show is even better than the first, and it makes for some really entertaining television. I definitely enjoyed the story of this season more than the first, and it actually gets to the main plot. Although the first season was amazing, it had a lot of origin stories. In this season, you still get some origin and backstory, but you also get a great antagonist, along with fantastic character development. I really loved the amount of time this show invests into the characters, and you really get to know their thoughts and feelings. I particularly loved both Dick and Jason. With Dick, you get to see him fight his own inner battles, which was intriguing, frustrating, and hopeful all in one. I wasn’t a fan of how they wrote him going to prison, and I thought it was a really weird choice to make. However, it all pays off once he finally transforms to Nightwing. His first entrance as Nightwing was freaking amazing, and I audibly both cheered and clapped because of how excited I was. Jason was also interesting to watch. Although he has his obnoxious moments, there were several scenes where I really identified with him, and I could almost feel his emotions pouring from the screen. The one character I didn’t care for is Conner. For some reason, he just bugs the crap out of me. I absolutely hated his origin, and it just seems so stupid to me. I’m kind of glad that they added his character into the show, but I just don’t like him. The one character addition I absolutely did a flip for was Deathstroke. Even though I’m not too experienced with his history, I really love his motives, actions, and designs. I love being able to see him in live action, and he’s definitely one of the best comic book villains I’ve seen. I wish his costume could’ve been a little bit more comic accurate, but he’s still so fun to watch. I also liked how Bruce Wayne was incorporated more into this season. At first, I didn’t care for his portrayal, but he seemed to grow on me. Overall, this season was extremely good, and I loved being able to watch the Titans have their own personal conflicts within the physical conflicts. The music/theme song was also really great. And Hank and Dawn’s duet of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” was actually really good, and I loved that they included that. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
