• I know this is a step down from the first movie, but it’s not as bad as I was expecting it to be. I didn’t think it would be horrible, but I think the 52% on Rotten Tomatoes isn’t very justifiable. Sure, the first half of the movie is kind of slow and pointless, but once it picks up towards the end, you get an unforgettable finale. I would agree that this sequel was unnecessary and definitely not needed, but it’s still mostly fun. It feels like one of those movies that was made to be a money grab. It seems useless, but I mean, it helped continue the franchise. I did really like the story, and how Andy was brought back. Of course, the whole basis of the movie was basically just Chucky’s revenge, but still cool to keep up with returning characters. The writing wasn’t great, but like I said earlier, the finale was fantastic. I won’t say specifically why, just because it’s fun to see on your own. It’s just such an awesome showdown. The acting wasn’t really good at all, with lots of scenes that felt so forced and just goofy. The campy horror feel is extremely present. Most of the characters weren’t even remotely interesting, except for Chucky, Andy, and Kyle. But watching Chucky again was really fun, with some awesome work done by the puppeteers and makeup department. His “death” scene was absolutely awesome. Overall, this movie lacked some pizazz, but still fun in a few parts. It’s one I’d only recommend if you like very cheesy horror movies.
