Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Night of the Living Dead
The first of George Romero’s zombie movies, I didn’t really care for it that much. Although the story was good and flowed pretty well. A lot of the movie took place inside the house that the characters took shelter in, which does make the movie feel a bit boring and hard to sit through. However the last 30 minutes definitely picked up and added some spice to the movie. The final attack of the zombies was actually pretty stressful, and it was really well shot. And for 1968, this movie has some pretty dark moments (mostly deaths). It's fun to see how the zombies will stop at nothing to get humans, and though they basically just looked like people (it was sometimes hard to see their makeup), it was still pretty creepy. I also love the movies where you get to watch and see how a group of people will act when they depend on each other to survive. It often makes me wonder how I would act in the situations that they are in, and it's intense to think about. Overall, this movie was decently good, and it was also complimented with a really great soundtrack. The ending was pretty good, because it leaves you wondering about what happened, and even though it wraps up pretty well, there is still a sense of mystery that lingers.
