Opal (2020)
Opal
I don’t know what the heck this was, but I certainly enjoyed it. To me, it felt very much like a modern David Lynch project, so of course that was cool. I’m actually kind of struggling trying to figure out what to write, cause there were just so many odds and ends. It was just random, and very subjective. There’s probably some kind of deeper meaning, but I’m not gonna strain myself to figure it out. It was both a simple yet very complex story. I won’t say much because you just have to see for yourself. I love how it consisted of several different styles of filmmaking: there was stop motion, some live action, and some computer animation. Every shot was different, but still had similarities. It’s one of the most unique things I’ve ever seen. I’m not gonna say more, because you just have to witness it for yourself. It’s only 13 minutes long, so check it out when you get a chance.
