Sasquatch Sunset (2024)
Sasquatch Sunset
I’m not gonna lie, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and easily one of my favorites of the year so far. I hadn’t heard very much about it until only a few months ago, and even then, there wasn’t a lot of promotion. Upon checking the Rotten Tomatoes audience score before seeing this, I was a little skeptical, but when I walked out of the theater, I realized I just watched something special. It’s one of the most simplest and oddest movies I’ve seen, but I loved almost every second of it. I wasn’t even sure how to classify it, because it’s adventurous, but also dramatic, in a subtle way. I was way more invested than I thought I would be. There were moments that were just sasquatch shenanigans, and others were I was generally feeling emotion for the sasquatch’s. I’ll say it now, I came very much to care for them. It didn’t feel like you were watching a movie with people dressed as sasquatch’s, but rather, you were actually watching sasquatch’s. I just loved it. I also liked how it wasn’t set in prehistoric times or anything, but in a modern day sense. The score was really good, with music that imitates the animals and seasons. Lastly, the makeup and costumes were extremely good, which helped with making it feel authentic. Overall, this movie was extremely simple, but good pacing and different situations make it stand out to me. I’d personally recommend it, though it definitely won’t be for everyone. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
