Lars and the Real Girl (2007)
Lars and the Real Girl
This is gonna be a tricky review to write, as there’s several things I want to talk about, but they’d make zero sense unless you see this movie. This is one of those movies that you kind of have to see for everything to fall into place, so I’m gonna keep this review short. The story is very unusual, but still, in a way, simple. It’s also not what you’d expect it to be. Based on the movie description, it sounds like it’d be a playful and comedic movie, but it goes way farther than that. It does a great job of dealing with several real issues, and that’s all I’m gonna say about it. You just need to experience it for itself. Ryan Gosling gives a stellar performance, and this is easily one of his best roles. He portrays his feelings in such a special way. The rest of the cast was decent, but Gosling really stood out. The music was pretty good, and it fit the story nicely. In some scenes, it has a more happy tone, whereas it’s somber when it needs to be. I’m gonna leave the review with that. This is just such a unique movie, and the only way to get what I’m saying is to watch it yourself. I’d recommend it to everyone, whether you like dramas or not. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
