Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Rambo: Last Blood
Although this movie tanked at the box office and is hated by critics, it’s still one of the best action movies made, and arguably one of the best Rambo movies. This movie is huge in terms of his character development, which is one reason why it’s so awesome. We start out by seeing him on the farm training horses, just living and enjoying life. I like how they made him a horse trainer, because in real life, Sly is actually really talented with horses. I like how they incorporated that into his character, and it makes it more authentic. Throughout the movie he talks about how he keeps a lid on his anger and negative feelings, and when tragedy strikes, we get to see it all come out. The movie does a great job of giving him his humble look, and then completely morphing into his crazy killer look. That’s why this movie is so flipping awesome. Instead of just seeing him go nuts on a bunch of random dudes, he has a personal reason to get involved, and we also get to see his strategic thinking. He uses his resources to create a Saw/Home Alone style trap, instead of him just wandering around with a gun shooting things. It gives the sense that Rambo has been preparing for this moment for a long time, and his PTSD has been eating away at him. The story is also great because it uses personal problems that bring Rambo’s soldier self out of him. The action is extremely awesome, and like I said, watching him go full haywire on guys in his tunnel trap is so exciting. The setting is awesome, and I love how they used both America and Mexico to make the story. I also liked how they used a human trafficking ring in this movie, and although it’s pretty disturbing, it makes you think because this stuff happens everyday. You realize the dangers that, especially young women, have to go through in certain parts of the world. Despite its disturbing plot, it’s still a really fun movie. The music is great, and it incorporates some new themes into it, as well as using the old one as well. The movie also ends in a fantastic way. It gives you flashbacks of the previous Rambo films, and in the end, you’re left wondering what’s going to happen with Rambo. I would definitely recommend this movie, and I absolutely love it. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
