Footloose (1984)
Footloose (1984)
This is easily one of the most iconic dance movies ever, and I can understand why. It wasn’t anything super special, but the 80’s vibe helps put it on another level. I enjoyed it for the most part, A lot of it was pretty cheesy, which makes it both good and bad. There were also some bits that felt slow and unnecessary. But, it was still good. I love the story, because it feels so realistic. I can think of what I want to say, but it’s kind of hard to put into words. I just love the rebellious nature of all the teens, especially against the strict and traditional townspeople. I love the small town, back country setting. And like I said, this movie screams 1980’s. If Kevin Bacon wasn’t in this, I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed it as much, and I mainly watched it for him. He’s one of my favorite actors, so I wanted to expand my list of his movies I’ve seen. And I’ll definitely say he’s an awesome dancer. He’s so smooth on his feet. He’s no John Travolta or Gene Kelly, but to me, he’s definitely up there. All the dance scenes were very well choreographed, and they went well with the awesome soundtrack. I gotta cut loose, footloose! I’d definitely recommend this movie if you like musicals, especially cheesy ones. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
