The French Dispatch (2021)
The French Dispatch
Coming in as the 35th perfect movie in Berry History, Wes Anderson once AGAIN delivers another unbelievably phenomenal film. I mean, from the opening shot of this movie, I already knew it was perfect, and I’d only seen basically one frame. That’s just how good of a filmmaker Wes Anderson is. I just don’t understand how he does it. Everything about this movie was just so visually and mentally pleasing, a lot like ‘Asteroid City’ and ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’. The story is extremely well written, as it tells three different stories within one story. It constantly keeps it moving forward with fresh details. You don’t get bored, and it keeps it lively. Perfectly executed. The typical Anderson cast is stellar as always, especially from Jeffrey Wright, Timothee Chalamet, Benecio del Toro, and Adrien Brody. Those are just my favorites, I could go on all day about everyone else. The cinematography was so on point like always, and that’s another thing I could talk forever about. Each shot can easily be framed and put on a wall. The colors, the scenery, the buildings, everything was absolutely gorgeous. Lastly, the soundtrack was completely outstanding. The score was so beautifully put together, and I was mesmerized by it. Music makes the movie, and I’ll die by that. In this case, it supports my quote perfectly. Anyways, I would HIGHLY recommend this to all drama/comedy fans. Trust me, if you don’t see it, you’re missing out. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
