Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
Insidious: Chapter 2
It was a slight downgrade from the first movie, but still just as fun. When you watch it, you can definitely see the more notable weaknesses, along with a couple minor unexplained things (which is the point, but still sometimes confusing). However, I still really liked it. I LOVE the way it ties into the first movie, both in the past and present. In a way, it’s almost like a time travel movie, but I can’t elaborate without giving away too much. If you’ve seen it, then hopefully you know what I mean. It just makes great connections, both character and story-wise. The scare factor wasn’t as high for me as the first movie was, though there were still some good ones. Story-wise, like I said, it ties into the first movie in a couple really neat ways. It makes the plot relevant to the series, while still being fresh. One small complaint is that even though the story is a little different, a lot of it still feels the same. It’s your stereotypical sequel. The characters were great, and I really love what they decided to do with Josh and Elise. I loved everybody. Overall, I very much enjoyed it, even though there are several flaws that sometimes (but not always) stick out. I’d definitely recommend it, just watch the original movie first.
