Psycho III (1986)
Psycho III
This movie totally sucked. It was the most opposite of Psycho it could’ve been, and the story was absolutely horrible. Although it was directed by Anthony Perkins himself, it was still terrible, and it was a complete crap show. Nothing in the story made sense, including most of the characters and the decisions they made in the film. The whole movie was scrambled, and without saying too much, it never explained once why Norman went back to the way he was, considering what happened in the second movie. They obviously thought they should revert him back to his old self, but that went against everything that happened in the second movie, and it didn’t make sense at all. The overall setting of the movie was also a horrible choice. In several scenes, the Bates Motel is packed with college students celebrating homecoming, and it’s the exact opposite of what the motel is supposed to be. Making the motel occupied by several people is extremely unorthodox in the Psycho movies, and even though I like odd and unusual things in movies, this one was a horrible call on the writer's part. The music was also pretty sucky, although there were a couple scenes where it made it fun. Overall, I will never watch this movie again, and I definitely am not recommending it to anyone. But I will end the review on a happy note, because the ending shot of the movie was extremely well done, and has a really nice throwback to the original Psycho.
