Seed of Chucky (2004)
Seed of Chucky
What the heck is this? This is more so a comedy rather than a horror, and I am here for it. It’s absolutely hilarious, while still having some graphic death scenes that spice up the movie. The whole thing is ridiculously random and straight up silly, but that’s what makes it good. I mean, story-wise, it’s literally about Chucky, Tiff, and their child who doesn’t know what gender he wants to be. Like I said, random, but awesome. The movie does absolutely nothing for the characters, except expand the family a little bit (hence the title). There’s so much I could say, while not knowing what to say at all. It’s just a pointless movie with no substance, but it was still strangely satisfying to watch. There’s a good performance from everyone, especially Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and Shire legend Billy Boyd. All the characters are good and interesting to watch, and like I just said, the cast does great. Each person makes their character iconic. All the doll designs are good, with scary yet relatable looks. All the props and stuff were awesome as well, and especially the fake guts and blood. At this point, I don’t even know what else to say, so to summarize everything, this is a random movie that makes no sense, but it was still entertaining to the very end. Maybe I’ll come back and edit this someday when I actually have some clearer thoughts. I think I’d recommend it if you like campy horrors, but definitely watch the other Chucky movies first.
