Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
No ticket! As the third movie of the series, it’s definitely extremely fun and very well written. You have to see it to know how awesome it is. It continues with the pursuit of an ancient artifact, much like the entire series. I really like how it also continues with the religious artifacts, much like Raiders did. It’s fun to see real artifacts from real events take place in an adventurous and humorous movie. The story is just so good and well written. It brings back the Nazis (again, much like Raiders), which keeps a history buff like me intrigued. I really love the entire cast and list of characters, which also make the movie interesting. I seriously love bringing in the late great Sir Sean freaking Connery as Indy’s dad. Both him and Harrison are the perfect father/son duo. They have their serious moments, but are also extremely funny together. They both provide comedic relief together, which gives the movie a very special spin. I also love the return of Sallah, and Marcus’s much larger role. The soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, which I can’t stress enough. The main theme, of course, gives the movie the heroic and adventurous feel it has. John Williams also creates the beautiful theme “Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra”, which perfectly encapsulates both Indiana and Henry’s personalities. The effects in the movie are also really good, with the inclusion of some great perspectives. And of course, Donovan’s final scene is absolutely awesome, as well as slightly terrifying. Overall, this movie is ridiculously good, and I would most highly recommend it to all action/adventure fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
