Batman: The Movie (1966)
Batman: The Movie
As my personal favorite Batman soundtrack of all time, it provides such a great sense of thrill, action, love, and above all, Nelson Riddle’s personal touch. Nelson Riddle is truly one of the best musicians of all time, and I love him for all of his collaborations with Frank Sinatra. I love the unique note he’s able to give each of his songs, and it’s very evident through this soundtrack. Of course, you can hear the campy Batman in each song, but Riddle is able to make the corny Batman truly beautiful. I can’t stress enough how good it is. I think in terms of Batman scores, The Batman is the greatest, but honestly, I think this one is better than the entire Dark Knight trilogy, among all the other Batman films. Anyways, I’m not gonna go over the songs, because they’re all so special and I could rant all day. But I’ll try to sum it up simply. There are the action-y songs where you can feel the fighting and the zams, blams, and ka-pows. There are songs from the love scenes that are so sweet and simple, but still complex and affectionate. They all fit together perfectly, and I couldn’t have asked for a better soundtrack for this movie. I would highly recommend it to all Batman/DC fans, especially if you love corny but awesome music. This soundtrack is officially Berry Approved, so go give it a listen!
