Iron Man 2 (2010)
Iron Man 2
Although this was a great, well made movie, I definitely found myself getting a bit bored throughout. I loved the story, and although it resonated a little with the first Iron Man, it was still really good. I loved the antagonist in this, and there was one particular thing I enjoyed about him. I like how for several parts of the movie, he was committing his criminal acts by use of drones, and he wasn’t physically present for some of the battles. It shows he has brains, and I loved how his character was written. The way Tony Stark was portrayed in this movie was interesting, and I thought it was both good and bad. (SPOILER) I liked how they had his character getting close to death, from the arc reactor that was in his chest. It was a really nice way to move the story along, as well as progress his character. There are very few superhero movies that deal with the hero dying from something besides his enemies. It gives the look that not everyone is invincible or lives forever. However, it made Tony absolutely unbearable to watch, and he was really obnoxious and jerky in several scenes. I loved how Rhodes came in to be the voice of reason for Tony, and I loved his character. I absolutely LOVED War Machine’s look, and the silver/gray model of the iron suit was freaking beautiful. It had such a sharp look to it, and I actually prefer it over the regular gold/maroon look. I will say that Iron Man has easily become my favorite Avenger at the moment, mostly because his suit is something of absolute beauty. The best thing about this movie had to be Elon Musk. My mind almost imploded when he showed up for his cameo. I verbally proclaimed when he showed up, and I was very excited. Anyways, this movie was pretty good, and though it felt pretty slow to me, I would still recommend it. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
