Tulsa King (Season 2) (2024)
Tulsa King (Season 2)
I didn’t think this was possible, but somehow, season two of ‘Tulsa King’ was even stronger and better than the first. That means a lot, considering how fantastic the first season was. For a while, I went back and forth between which season was better, but I settled on this one because of its episode consistency and the established characters. It’s nice going into it already knowing the characters and jumping directly into the continuing storyline. Of course, there’s new new antagonists (along with returning ones), but it’s a smooth transition into the new season and very interesting. I loved seeing the continued expansions of Dwight’s Tulsa empire, and having new bosses come in and try to take it. The characters of Thresher and Bevilaqua were a great addition, with awesome performances from Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo. Combine them with Dwight's original family, and you get such a great lineup of antagonists. The showdowns were fun, the business talks were investing, and it’s just great writing all around. There were so many moments that had me shocked, and there were so many little surprises that you aren’t at all expecting. There’s plenty of times where you just start to get comfortable, and then right when you do, the rug is pulled right from under your feet. Just a beautiful season with awesome writing and awesome characters. I’m heavily looking forward to season three, especially after that season finale. Some doors were closed, but a whole new one just opened. I’d recommend this show to all crime/drama fans. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now! All hail the (Tulsa) king!
