John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
John Wick: Chapter 4
Not only is this the best movie of the John Wick series, but it’s also my new favorite of the four as well. Seriously, you need to go see this movie. From the beginning to the end, there is constantly something happening on screen. Whether it’s action or just conversation, each scene adds something to the movie and overall story. And speaking of story, the continued storyline is nice, even though you need to see the previous three movies before watching this one. Despite this movie having the same continuation, it’s still so unique in its own beautiful way. It brings so much more than the previous movies does, which only makes for a better experience. I absolutely loved the setting throughout the movie. A big chunk of it had an Asian setting, which I really liked. It added so much feeling and culture to each scene. I also love how you get some pieces of city, desert, snow, rain, basically everything. The color was so vibrant, just like the previous movies. The color grading makes it so vivid, despite the dark tone. The contrast is truly amazing. The use of light was also crazy good. The choreography, stunts, and action scenes were so insanely awesome, and easily some of the best in the series. The fight between Wick and that fat guy was probably my favorite, and I was so disappointed when it ended. And who doesn’t like to see John Wick go full Rambo on a bunch of dudes? Keanu Reeves completely kills it, once again. He’s just so good in this role, and they couldn’t have picked anybody better. It was also nice to see Larry Fishburne, and the late Lance Reddick one last time. The addition of Bill Skarsgard and Donnie Yen only added more impact, and they completed the cast beautifully. I could probably go on for another hour on this movie, but I’ll stop here. Overall, it’s one of the best action movies in recent times, and probably one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen, period. I would highly recommend it to all action/thriller fans, though make sure to watch the first three movies before seeing this one. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
