In a Violent Nature (2024)
In a Violent Nature
I have to say, I was a little disappointed with this. I wasn’t expecting anything super great, but I maybe got my hopes a little too high after seeing the Rotten Tomatoes score. I absolutely loved the concept behind this movie, as it was a very unique idea that I don’t think I’ve seen before. It was such a simple movie, yet it was original. My biggest complaint is that there’s several scenes that felt super slow, especially the car ride scene at the end. If that scene was cut, the movie would’ve felt much quicker and much faster. Typically, I love movies that simply depict life, such as ‘The Zone of Interest’ or ‘Sasquatch Sunset’. This one just didn’t have the shine I was hoping it would have. I will say two things, though: Johnny was absolutely awesome, and I’m hoping he gets the Michael Myers/Ghostface/Freddy Krueger treatment, in terms of being memorable. Johnny was so bulky and menacing, and he should be a horror icon. The second thing I want to say is that the kills were completely gruesome and as brutal as they get. I mean, when he killed the blonde yoga girl? It was disgusting and disturbing, and absolutely awesome. All the kills were great, it’s just that everything in between was slow. I loved the feeling of the movie, though. It made me feel uneasy. Overall, it was decently made, it’s just that it’s not always super exciting. Will I watch it again? Maybe, and I’d only recommend it to die hard horror fans.
