Best in Show (2000)
Best in Show
Although this film is often considered one of the funniest comedies to date, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters that Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy played, and especially Fred Willard. They all had really funny lines consistently, and every scene they were in was pretty good. I also thought that the characters were well portrayed, The characters were also extremely diverse, which was good for this kind of movie, I just didn’t think they were funny at all. This movie is very much similar to The Office, in the sense that it’s a documentary with little side interviews with each character throughout the film. I also liked how it focused around a dog show, which isn’t something we see too often in movies and TV shows. It felt like a cheaply made film, which was kind of the point, but I just didn’t care for the production that much. I would recommend it to those who enjoy comedies, but I probably wouldn’t watch it again.
