Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story (2024)
Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
Christopher Reeve is truly a legend, and this documentary shows it. The amount of pain and tribulation he went through after his accident, and how he bounced back is truly inspirational. Heartbreaking, but inspirational. I love the format of this documentary, and how it has a nonlinear way of telling his story. It bounces between the past and present, which keeps his story flowing in an interesting way. Rather than just telling it chronologically, it takes different events from his life and puts it together piece by piece. It’s a great way of storytelling. The way his love is demonstrated through his foundation and family was really touching. He really is Superman. He denied it, saying that it was just a character, but he is Superman. Not was, not has been, but is. There will never be another Christopher Reeve, and there will never be another Superman portrayed the way Christopher Reeve did. He is everyone’s hero. I’m so glad this was the first film helmed by the new DC Studios. Paying tribute and honoring the man who kickstarted the entire comic book movie genre was one of the best things I’ve seen. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
