Shin Godzilla (2016)
Shin Godzilla
This version of Godzilla was so much better than the 2014 make, and this is definitely one I would watch again. The story was so much better, and it paid a lot of homage back to the 1954 classic. The design for Godzilla was insanely better in this movie in my opinion, and they actually made him terrifying. They based his design off of the 1954 version, which gave it the more traditional look. There were a couple moments when the CGI was evident, but overall, the animation was really great. The music was also really good, and it gave it the feel of the old Godzilla because of how similar it was. I enjoyed every scene that Godzilla was in, and they made him such a cool, destructive character instead of the monster savior that he’s portrayed as in the 2014 version. When I want to see a Godzilla movie, I want to see a crazy powerful monster destroying cities and wreaking havoc. And that is exactly what this movie gave me. The only thing that I thought wasn’t done super well was some of the beginning scenes. There was a lot of jumping around and quick cuts, which was confusing for a little bit. I also felt that some of the acting in certain scenes was just a little forced, but mostly it was really good. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves monsters. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
