Scream (2022)
Scream (2022)
This movie is absolutely terrific, and my favorite Scream film, besides the first one. In many ways, it's a remake, yet it's not. The story was kind of close to being the same as the previous movie, but you get new characters and new, yet similar, events. It continues following the path of Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, while introducing the Core Four. I liked seeing where they end up 10 years after the previous movie, although it’s kind of weird seeing a Scream movie set in the present day. To me, the special feel that this series has is the older, 90’s horror flick aesthetic. So seeing this one just felt a bit off. But, the quality is still awesome, and the brutality of the kills is next level. The Ghostface reveals weren't super super great, but still catch you off guard. I love how the motives play in line with the Stab movies. I like how it pays homage to the first Scream. For die hard Scream (1996) fans, this movie might feel unnecessary and almost a copycat, but I love it, and it's extremely well put together. There were a few buildup moments that were really well done, which was nice. Overall, I’d recommend it to most horror fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
