Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Spider-Man: No Way Home
This movie. My gosh. It’s easily my favorite MCU movie ever, and the only one that has come remotely close to dethroning it is Endgame. In fact, this movie is so good that I saw it four times when it was in theaters. I absolutely love this movie, and I’d say it’s the one that really sparked my interest in the MCU. There are very, very few complaints I have with this movie. The story is absolutely awesome, and it tackles a plot that is very rarely seen in a superhero movie. I love the different takes it has on space and time, and it brings a fantasy element as well as almost a sci-fi feel. The whole mood of the movie is awesome. It picks up immediately from where Far From Home left off, so you have to be caught up to watch this. However, if you are, then this movie sucks you in from the first second, and keeps you entertained for the entire movie. Without spoiling, this movie has one of the greatest team ups ever seen in CBM history, and each and every character is super special. You definitely get a blast from the past in this movie. I love the way the whole movie was written. Though some bits of it may seem confusing to some, the majority of the movie is usually clear about what’s happening. I love how Doctor Strange returns, as he makes the movie much more interesting. He’s what gives the movie its magic/fantasy feel, as well as still keeping the typical Spider-Man vibes. The cinematography and visuals of this movie are absolutely freaking fantastic, and some of the best you’ll ever see in a CBM. There are so many scenes that pretty much blow your mind, and the first time I watched this, I was in awe the whole time. I mean, this is one of the most beautifully shot movies I’ve ever seen. The effects and CGI were so spot on, and you can’t get enough of them. Especially the mirror dimension scene, which is my absolute favorite Doctor Strange scene ever (for now). The music is out of this world, and Michael Giacchino went above and beyond for this movie. The previous two Spider-Man movies in this trilogy are really good, but to me, this one is the best of the three. I’d even go as far to say that this has the best score for any Spider-Man movie, period. The main theme stands out and has a heroic, energetic feel that really pumps you up. It adds so much excitement to each scene that it’s in. There were also a couple scenes where the score was sad yet beautiful, and it adds so much emotion to the scene. The ending of this movie is really great, and though it leaves you with several questions, I thought it was a fantastic way to end it. (Slight spoiler) It gives Spider-Man a fresh start with a new (and really gorgeous) suit, and it makes you wonder what will become of his character further down the road in the MCU. The only reason this movie doesn’t have a perfect score is because of the way one of the characters is written. His appearance and personality has completely changed from a previous movie, with no explanation whatsoever. It’s really confusing and irritating, and I thought it was a crappy way to have him. But besides that, this movie is a masterpiece, and to me, probably won’t be beaten by another MCU film anytime soon. I would HIGHLY recommend it to Spider-Man fans, and I want to watch it every single week. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
