Glass (2019)
Glass
Unfortunately, this is a disappointing end to a not-so-great trilogy. ‘Split’ was really good, but both ‘Unbreakable’ and ‘Glass’ were slow, pointless, and just not that enjoyable. I’m not super sure where M. Night Shyamalan was trying to go with this movie, but I don’t think it entirely worked. It felt scattered, forced, and way too drawn out. Probably 30 minutes of this movie could’ve been shaved off, and it wouldn’t have affected it at all. I do really like how this trilogy ties into comic books and real life superheroes, which is an entertaining and cool concept. But, it just doesn’t have the pop like it should. It’s bland and emotionless. The only thing that really has any kind of color (metaphorically) is James McAvoy. He shines once again, and it’s hard not to love his character. Even though he’s basically evil, he can’t help it, and you feel really sorry for him. The rest of the characters sucked. As much as I enjoy Bruce Willis and Anya Taylor-Joy, even they aren’t enough to save this movie. Like I said, bland. And that’s about all there is to say about this. I don’t have anything else to add, so I’ll end off by saying this: the only movie in this trilogy worth watching is ‘Split’, and you don’t need to watch the others to understand it. Don’t hurt yourself trying to see this.
