She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
I think I crapped on this show a little too hard before actually seeing it. I think it’s a somewhat decent example of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. I thought it was gonna be some random crappy MCU show, which in some ways, it is. But, I think it was mildly funny, and had some fun action scenes. Definitely not Marvel’s finest, but certainly not the worst I’ve seen. I’ll get the complaints out of the way first. The two biggest faults were the writing and the VFX. The dialogue was extremely corny at times, though the fourth wall narration was nice. But the storyline wasn’t super great, as it felt scattered, pointless, and ultimately didn’t lead to anything eventful at all. The VFX was the biggest eyesore of all. It was downright egregious at times, and very shoddy for Marvel standards. Most of the time, She-Hulk just looked rubbery and….fake. I don’t understand why they can’t get body builders to portray She-Hulk. If this show was done the style the original Hulk show was (Bill Bixby and Lou Ferigno rule, by the way), it would give Hulk and Marvel such a better look. Plus, it would give more female actresses (especially the bigger ones, muscle wise) a chance to work. It would feel so much more realistic than what I just saw. But barring the writing and VFX, I thought the show was moderately funny, with some goofy legal drama and a great cameo from Matthew freaking Murdock. I don’t think I’d rewatch it, but it was a good one time enjoyment. I’d probably only recommend it if you’re watching your way through the MCU.
