A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
A Quiet Place Part II
I’d definitely say this was a small step down from the first movie, though it was still good. The story continuation fits together really smoothly, and basically picks up from the first one. It’s such a smooth transition, and also doesn’t leave you confused. Most times, sequels take a jump in time and start somewhere else, but this one doesn’t do that. You can watch these two movies back-to-back without missing a beat. John Krasinski just does such a great job. He just does an amazing job taking such a simple idea and making it so exciting and interesting. Although this movie opens up new stories and ideas for future movies, one of my complaints is that this specific movie doesn’t necessarily feel new. It adds new characters and settings, but somewhat feels like a repeat. That’s why I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. It was still entertaining, and the radio storyline worked well, but it just didn’t give as much thrill as before. But still, I liked it. The inclusion of Cillian Murphy was so awesome, and he made the cast so much stronger. In a way, it felt like his character replaced Lee, which felt weird. He did a great job, though. I had no idea he was even in this, so that was a nice surprise. Overall, this movie was great, though felt a little weaker than the first movie. I’d still recommend it to all horror fans, just make sure you’ve seen the first one. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
