Mission: Impossible III (2006)
Mission: Impossible III
As the third movie of this series, it was really fun and entertaining, and it had an amazing story. The majority of the time, there was constant action and fighting, and the effects were absolutely incredible. There were two specific scenes where my mind was absolutely blown. One was the scene on the bridge where one of the cars exploded. The explosion itself was awesome, but when the shockwave blew Ethan off his feet, I literally gasped. It was such a well shot sequence, and the visuals of the entire scene were amazing. The second scene was the one where he was in Shanghai, and he was sprinting to save Julia. The way the camera was able to be complete still while following him from a profile angle was mind boggling. His whole body was moving, except his head, which almost looked like it was anchored on a point on the screen. It was incredible to watch, and I’m pretty sure I smiled the whole time I was watching that scene. The opening of the movie was really great, too. It started off in a confusing way, and it was definitely an interesting way to begin the film. However, it immediately pulls you into the scene where Cruise had his best bit of acting, so you get drawn in instantly. Later on, you see that scene again, and at that point, everything makes sense. After the opening scene, the story starts fresh from the beginning, and the overall plot is great. I love how this movie uses multiple countries, and not just one central location. Being able to watch Ethan sneak into the Vatican and then travel to Shanghai was super fun, and it was a really good idea. I also really love how the IMF decided to restrain Ethan because he was getting too reckless. While he was still doing good, they thought he was going rogue, and it was a great concept. It reminded me a lot of Demolition Man, in the sense that doing the right thing might not always be done the right way. The music was decently good, and the main theme reverted back to the way it was in the first film. The rest of the score was pretty fun as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this movie, and watching it gets me very excited for the rest of the series. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
