• This was so much better than the second movie in the series. It actually felt like a movie. It was mostly based on The Ring, Signs, and 8 Mile,  though I haven’t seen Signs. Much like the first movie, it kind of takes itself seriously while still being a comedy. I guess I’m saying that the spoofing does a great job. The story moves forward smoothly, without trying to throw too much at you at once. Of course, it has a lot of references and parodies, but it took its time. It was definitely dumb and cheesy like the others, but it was much more enjoyable than the previous movie. Many moments actually felt serious, which evens out the comedy. It also does a good job of throwing different little twists at you. However, the big reason why so many points were taken off of the Movie Score is just because of how silly it is. It’s your typical spoof, it’s not super special or anything. The cast is strong, with some familiar faces making themselves present. I missed the Wayans brothers, but their absence was made up for by Charlie Sheen and comedy legend Leslie Nielsen. Overall, the movie was dumb, though much more enjoyable than the second movie. I’d probably recommend it if you like spoofs, and of course, the previous two Scary Movies.
