Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man
Definitely one of my favorite superhero movies, this is one that is just so good in so many ways. The character portrayals are so good, especially when it comes to Tobey and Dafoe. Willem played such a great psychopath, like he always does, even though he’s something of a scientist himself. I would very easily say that the Green Goblin is the best Spider-Man villain we’ve seen in live action, and he makes this movie so great. I mean, do you know how much he sacrificed? I also really loved Clint Robertson as Uncle Ben, and even though he didn’t have much screen time, he really plays a part in the entire movie. I also absolutely love how colorful this movie is. It’s not super dark and gloomy like a lot of superhero movies are. Even in the physically dark scenes, there is still plenty of color that gives the scene some pop. The score is also really good, and I would say it’s one of the better superhero movie scores that we’ve gotten. The only knock I would give this movie would be some of the scenes where the CGI is extremely evident, and yes, even though it was 2002, it was still very obvious. But this is still such a phenomenal movie. I would most highly recommend this movie to all action/superhero fans, and I’ve never met anyone who hasn’t enjoyed this movie. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
