The Mandalorian (Season 1) (2019)
The Mandalorian (Season 1)
I totally forgot how good this show is. The first season was very good the first time, but after rewatching it, I can definitely say it’s a perfect season. The show just brings so many new elements to the Star Wars universe. I really love how it centers on a Mandalorian, and the only ones we see are Boba and Jango (in live action, at least). So, you get to explore a whole new creed and culture, which is awesome. I also really like the show because of all the new Star Wars shows, I think it does the best job of keeping the OG trilogy feel. There are a few tiny little bits of the show that are a little questionable, but nothing that prevents this from getting a perfect score. The entire cast is absolutely awesome, and they embody each character beautifully. Obviously, Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin is the standout. He is just so freaking cool in every way imaginable. He’s gruff, violent, and hardcore, yet you can still see his kind heart and compassion. And for most people, the number one character would be Grogu. Normally, I don’t like how certain movies/shows rely on a cute character to carry it (such as Baby Groot and others), but in this case, it works. You get to see more of Yoda’s species, but not enough to really answer questions about who they are. It works perfectly. The music is really solid as well. It has a good modern sound, but also an almost tribal sound. It’s not your typical Star Wars sound, but that’s what makes it good. I’m gonna leave it there, cause there is much more to write about for season two and three. Overall, this season is ridiculously good, and Johnny Favs is an absolute genius. I would highly recommend this to all Star Wars or sci-fi fans. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
