Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days
This one, much like the first two, is hilarious, yet still kinda dumb. It has the same silly feel that the others have, while, again, teaching some life lessons. Compared to the book, it sort of strays away from the original story. It keeps a lot of the same stuff, just changing some things up. I love how this one is set during the summer, whereas the first two are during the school year. It’s a nice change, and gives you a look at a different part of Greg’s life. Like the first two, there’s somewhat of a plot, while it’s packed full of smaller stories that fit together. The return of the Heffley family is nice, especially Rodrick and Frank. I can't stress enough how awesome Steve Zahn is, and he has me laughing every time. It’s also nice to see more of Greg’s personal life, instead of just his school one. And, the movie does a great job of focusing on his relationship with his dad, and why it’s important. The soundtrack is great, but still dorky. I love Rodrick’s rendition of “Baby” towards the end, which, honestly, is better than Justin Bieber’s version. Overall, this is a silly, fun family movie, and I love it a lot. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
