Knock at the Cabin (2023)
Knock at the Cabin
This was about what I expected going into it. It’s basically what I thought it was gonna be, and I think basically everything from the trailer sums up the movie. I’m glad I didn’t pay a full ticket price to see this, as a lot of it seemed slow and boring. The movie in itself was decent, though nothing crazy. I liked the whole premise of the movie, though I think it could’ve gone down a little better. I really enjoyed the cinematography, as it was very up close and personal. I also liked how almost the entire thing was based in the cabin, which helped centralize the plot and keep everything grounded. The music was decently solid, though nothing too impressive. It had a lot of Henry Mancini and Psycho vibes, which I liked. One thing I really enjoyed was each and every character. Their backstories were intriguing to learn about. I also loved the symbolism. The acting was great, and Dave Bautista really shows how he can be so serious when needed. I wish Rupert Grint had a little more screen time, but what can you do? Overall, the movie gave me a great uneasy feeling, though I probably won’t see it again. I would recommend it to most mystery/thriller fans, especially if you like Shyamalan.
