The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006)
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause
I don’t care what you say, this movie is so underrated. Is it a masterpiece? Absolutely not. Is it stupid, pointless, corny, and extremely unnecessary. Yes it is! But that’s exactly why I like it. It’s such a happy, colorful film, and I don’t understand why people don’t like it. Just because a movie isn’t well made doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to enjoy it. I love the story, even if it’s very silly. It has a nice little time travel element to it, with some great references to the first movie. It portrays changing the past the same way that “Back to the Future Part II” and “The Flash” does. It’s a fun concept, and though overdone in movies nowadays, I like it. The rest of the story isn’t entirely well written, but it’s entertaining if you like corny junk. And that goes the same for the characters as well. Basically everybody returns, with some new additions. Everyone is cheesy and definitely over the top in many scenes. I love Tim Allen as Santa, and I really love Martin Short as Jack Frost. To me, he’s just hilarious, especially with his blue, icy makeup. Finally, once again, the sets and costumes are pretty to look at, and very wintery. The special effects suck big time, but the props make up for it. Overall, this movie is stupid and not well made, but I really like it. Not one I’d necessarily recommend, but I enjoy watching it each year.
