The Expendables (2010)
The Expendables
This was definitely an action packed movie, which made most of it very fun to watch. Cinematically, it was decent, but not great. However, that doesn’t stop this from being entertaining. It does feel a bit cliche, as it’s basically any other action movie. But, the story is fun to follow along with. A lot of it has a classic Rambo feel to it, and not just because Stallone is in this. All the action sequences are really exciting, and if you like explosions, gunfire, and blood, then this movie is for you. They were all shot pretty well. They’re what gives the movie its thrilling vibe. Aside from those, the rest of the movie is kind of lame. Like I said, there isn’t anything super original. There were a couple moments that I thought were kind of random and not necessary. But, it’s still a fun movie. It has one of the most buff casts you’ll see, and it only gets better in the series. Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Crews, Willis, and Schwarznegger all play a part. They are all very exciting characters, and seeing all of them in one movie is pretty insane. I’ve only ever seen Lundgren and Statham in 1 or 2 movies, so seeing more from them was nice. The music was also a bit cliche, like the story, but still good. It obviously amplifies the action scenes, and it works pretty smoothly. Overall, I would recommend this to action lovers, especially if you like Stallone. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
