Black Widow (2021)
Black Widow
Now, I’ve never really heard a favorable review about this movie, but I’ll say one thing: this movie is underrated. I definitely enjoyed it, and though it’s not one I would watch again anytime soon, it has a great story and fun characters. The placement of this movie in the MCU release order is very interesting, and I don’t agree with the decision behind it. It doesn’t make sense at all that they release a movie about a character, after that character dies. To me, once a character dies, they should stay dead. So getting this movie after her death makes zero sense. However, despite that, I think the movie was still fun and entertaining. I loved learning more about Natasha’s history and family. You never really get to see any of that in her previous movies, so being given details about all of that was interesting. The story is good, and though there were a couple moments that confused me, the entire thing was fun. It kept me pulled in for the whole time, which always helped make the movie better. All the characters were good, and the inclusion of Florence Pugh and David Harbour was awesome. They both help push the story forward, as well as make you appreciate Natasha even more. Plus, the duo of Pugh and Johansson is great, and it’s awesome on the eyes to get two mommies in one movie. I wasn’t super impressed by the music, however. Though some snippets of it were fun and intense, the majority of it wasn’t really special. It wasn’t necessarily bland, but it just sounded a bit cliche to me. Most of the effects were alright, although there were definitely a few that were a bit questionable. This definitely wasn’t one of Marvel’s finest when it comes to CGI, but I enjoyed most of it. Overall, this was an entertaining movie, and I’d recommend it to all MCU fans. Plus, the end credits scene was very interesting, and I’m excited to see where it leads to. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
