Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Yep, George Miller certainly knows how to do it. I’m really curious where the Mad Max franchise is gonna go after this movie. Who’s to say it will go anywhere else? I think this could be a great conclusion with the five Mad Max films. I don’t want it to end, but if it did, this would be a good final touch. Getting a new and younger look at Furiosa was really cool, and done extremely well. Anya Taylor-Joy really delivers, and despite the low amount of dialogue for her, she does a lot of communication through her eyes and body movements. She always does amazing. Chris Hemsworth was also fantastic, and he is one of the more memorable villains in 2024. Not only is his physique intimidating, but his line deliveries are serious, yet also comedic. It’s one of those movies that is super good at being dramatic, while still having a very small touch of comical lines or events. The action was incredible, and it keeps up the Fury Road standard. I think I still prefer Mad Max 2 and Fury Road more, but this one still has some very well executed sequences. The cars and trucks with the explosions and gun firing was perfect. I can’t get enough of it. One complaint I do have is that I think the VFX looked a little choppy. There were a lot of instances where I could tell that it was CGI or on a green screen. Most of the time, it looked really good, but it had a few weak moments. Finally, the score by Tom Holkenborg was phenomenal, and he still hasn’t missed with his work. He always delivers in the biggest way possible. Overall, this movie was fantastic, with some tiny noticeable moments of wonky special effects. But it’s still great, and I’d recommend it to all action fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
