Arrow (Season 2) (2013-2014)
Arrow (Season 2)
Arrow continues to amaze me. This season was actually better than the first, and I enjoyed it even more. It upped the stakes, brought in fantastic new characters, and introduced you to Barry freaking Allen. It has the same dark, gritty feel, which is exactly what this show is about. The continuation of the Arrow storyline works really smoothly. The transitions between past and present keep everything interesting, but not too overcrowded. I love how Slade Wilson is given such a huge role, more as an antagonist than what he was previously seen as. I absolutely love Deathstroke, so seeing him again in live action is perfect. His costume was pretty comic accurate, except his mask is kind of bad. But, he’s still such a great character. Like I mentioned before, introducing Barry Allen was so epic. I knew he was gonna show up at some point, but I couldn’t help but clap when he arrived. It gives him just enough screen time to show who he is, but not enough where you get tired of him before watching The Flash. The music was pretty awesome again, though nothing too crazy. It adds the classic DC/action feel, which gets your heart pumping in the intense scenes. The choreography also continues to be beautiful, and super smooth. Overall, this season was even better than the first, and I really enjoyed it (plus, the season finale does a fantastic job of setting up the next one). I’d definitely recommend it to all Arrow fans. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
