Nope (2022)
Nope
I was super excited for this movie in the months leading up to it, and it was worth it. It's funny, because when I first saw it, I wasn't a huge fan, but upon a rewatch, I really love it. The movie itself was really well made, and Jordan Peele did a really great job with it. He once again shows why horror is trade (despite a comedy background). I didn’t find it as scary or suspenseful as I thought it would be, but there were definitely a few moments that really got me or made me jump. It also has a very ominous feel, so it doesn't have to rely on jumpscares to get the point across. The music overall was really good, with some awesome western themes. There was one scene in particular that was absolutely phenomenal score-wise, and it actually made me smile because of how amazing it was. I also really liked the presence of the black actors in this movie, and they really made it what it was. They bring so much power to their roles, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Jordan just knows who needs to be in his movies, and they always deliver. The representation is also very nice, and conquers some horror stereotypes. Overall, this is one I'd definitely watch again, and one I'd definitely recommend to all horror/sci-fi fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
