The Expendables 3 (2014)
The Expendables 3
One thing that astounds me about this movie is how it only has a 31% on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s crazy, because this is a good movie. After watching it, I’m very excited to see what’s to come in the fourth one. This one has a good story and some of the best action of the first three movies, though the first movie is still my favorite. It was entertaining all throughout. Now, it did feel cliche through certain points, much like the entire series. There wasn’t anything too unique, but it still provides great entertainment. All the action scenes were super exciting, and they definitely don't disappoint. They all had the same Rambo/Mission: Impossible feel that the first two movies had. There was plenty of shooting, fighting, and explosions, which I enjoyed every time. They were all shot well, and they did a good job of putting you right in the middle of the action. All the characters were awesome, just like they were in the previous movies. I also really, really enjoyed the addition of Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson to the movie. Just when you thought the cast couldn’t get better, it does. It’s probably one of the most stacked casts I’ve seen: Stallone, Statham, Gibson, Snipes, Lundgren, Ford, Banderas, Schwarznegger, Crews, and Powell. It’s just amazing. The music continues to add a thrilling and intense sound throughout the movie, which only amplifies the exciting feeling. Overall, this movie was good, and even though it does kind of feel similar to many other action movies, it’s still enjoyable. I do think it's a little too long for it's own good, but still fun. It’s a definite recommendation to all action lovers. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
