Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Coming in as the 33rd perfect movie in Berry History, I don’t even know where to begin. There is so much I want to say about this movie, but I definitely don’t have enough room. I’ll attempt to keep this somewhat short because it’s truly a theater experience that one needs to see for themselves. Cause holy CRAP it’s freaking amazing. EASILY a top 10 action/adventure film of all time. Every single second was jam packed with story and detail, even in the slower scenes. I was never bored once. All of the M:I movies usually have a scene or two where I lose a little focus, but this one kept me drawn in the entire time. The whole story was so beautifully written, and it was almost scary because it felt pretty realistic. Obviously, a lot of the action is probably beyond the laws of physics, but story-wise, it was very real. I won’t go into specifics, just know that it’s a perfect story, especially for this day and age. It also ended in a way that I really liked. You’re left so thirsty for more. There’s no way I can wait until Part Two, I need it NOW. Anyways, the story was awesome, but so was the cast. Elwes, Morales, Klementieff, Atwell, Pegg, Rhames, and of course, Tom freaking Cruise. That dude has absolutely solidified himself as one of the greatest actors ever to be born. He does his own stunts, he brings plenty of emotion and grit, and NOBODY will be able to ever be him. I mean, both the motorcycle and train scene? They will go down as some of the most iconic action moments of all time. Speaking of iconic, the soundtrack was also insanely good. Lorne Balfe once again comes through with a fantastic M:I score, and it was so cool to hear the main theme in theaters. Every note played added some tension and excitement to the movie. As much as I love this movie, I’ll stop here. Just go watch it for yourself, because I promise you, you’ll regret not watching it. Even if you haven’t seen any of the M:I’s, you’d still enjoy it. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it NOW!
