Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
Insidious: The Red Door
For the fifth (and potentially final) movie of this franchise, I thought it wraps things up very well, while still just barely leaving room for another potential movie (which doesn’t need to happen, but who knows). In fact, this has become my favorite Insidious movie, only behind the first one. No Insidious movie will ever come close to touching the first one. I absolutely loved seeing the Lamberts once again, which is why I liked it so much. Right when you think their story couldn’t get any more exciting, it does. Of course, there were a couple little things that I personally would’ve done differently, but nothing that makes the movie bad. One of those is the scare factor. Though there were definitely a few times where I jumped, it wasn’t nearly as bad as the first two movies. I also wished a certain lipstick painted demon would’ve had a bit more of a presence. As iconic as he is, he just felt rushed and absent. I mean, the red door had more screen time than him. But he’s still awesome, so I’ll leave it at that. The overall story was awesome, and I love the college/adult atmosphere, which really differs from all the other movies. The characters were also really good, even though it might take a minute or two to get used to them. There’s a lot more I would love to say, but spoilers keep me from doing so. Also, that ending actually made me tear up, so there ya go. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I think it’s the second best (and my second favorite) Insidious movie. I’d definitely recommend it, but only if you’ve seen the first two. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
